A new website (or domain name) must be ordered through IT.
You can choose your web site vendor yourself, but the domain name must be registered by IT through Domeneshop.
When choosing a web site, IT will pay for pages hosted with WordPress through Domeneshop. If you want to host your website anywhere else, you are free to do so, but have to pay for it yourself. The domain must still be purchased through IT.
After setting up the initial site, you are responsible for it (even if it is hosted by Domeneshop).
That means that you have to
- Keep it updated with respect to contents
- Keep it updated with the latest patches of WordPress, plugins and themes
- Keep it backed up to a safe place in case something breaks
We recommend that you check for updates and that the backup is running monthly.
For backups of WordPress, IT can provide you with a license for UpDraft Plus.
